Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Against 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a former doctor stands accused of committing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – including some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One senior CPS official commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents said the 45 charges comprise:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
