Netflix Casts Perfect Star for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Season 3

The Secret Organization is poised to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, although the real showdown won’t take place until the next season, and a beloved, popular member has just been cast.

Netflix announced Tuesday that the talented performer has joined the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Bon Clay. The role can use their power to transform into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve touched with their main hand. The actor, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a version of that role re-envisioned as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the source material and anime.

Escola will work alongside multiple new cast members set to bring Baroque Works to reality, including leader Sir Crocodile, portrayed by the well-known actor, a talented actress as another operative, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the ensemble as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta.

Though Bon Clay is a major member of Baroque Works, the persona won’t appear until One Piece the third season. Given the second season likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this marks a major departure in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could suggest more adjustments to the plot development.

Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the character. Besides their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
