President Trump Welcomes Families of Attacked Military Soldiers to White House

President Trump announced on the weekend that he has invited the relatives of a Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the White House.

He added that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.

Background on the Tragic Event

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a attack on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Gatherings across West Virginia have taken place in their honor.

White House Invitation

The commander-in-chief said he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both members of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump addressed journalists. “And in the same way with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Attendees gathered over the weekend at a local school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to aid public safety in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the individual that teachers hoped for. She carried herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s former high school, told the press. “She was sweet, considerate and always ready to assist people.”

Funeral details for Sarah are still being arranged.

Legal Measures and Government Changes

Law enforcement have charged a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of murder and two counts of violent assault while armed.

The event led the administration to suspend refugee claims and temporarily stop granting entry permits to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of the city, enlisted in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s leader the governor mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Bondi stated on the program that she aimed to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County High in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a military police officer with distinction, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had bravery,” the governor addressed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
