Uche Fuels Dominant Palace Win at Irish Side Shelbourne.
Even though entering their first-ever European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Without star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding result that all but secures them a place in the Conference League playoffs.
A further three points in their upcoming match against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to secure straight passage to the last 16, especially following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Moment
This occasion offered a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used players to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, scoring for the second game in succession.
The Shelbourne team that had concluded their league season were outmatched even for a largely rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were already depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg injuries.

Shelbourne were hanging on for dear life. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for two robust challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest several players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the visiting side.
